5 Ideas for finders fees

Unless you find a posting on this site that you can submit a find for, you may be wondering how to get your first finders fee.

Here are 5 ideas to get started.

  1. Employment - Many businesses are offering bonuses to staff who help recruit skilled staff. Even if there is not a formal finding bonus policy you may be able to negotiate a finders fee if you know someone that would match a job opening.
  2. Find a client for a consultant - Matching a consultant to a client can get you a quick fee. Be careful if matching the consultant to your company, there is likely to be a conflict of interest if you are paid by a provider.
  3. Want ads - All over the web local newspapers you will find want ads. Depending on the value and rarity of the wanted item you may get a fee from either the buyer or the seller.
  4. Rental - A good renter is valuable to a property owner in the right market. Conversely a lead on a decent rental is worth money to people in many markets. This is especially true where there is very low availability or in specialty markets.
  5. Collectors - Check want ads in Ebay for collectors items. You may be able to connect just the right two people for tidy find.
